It’s just not.  I’m not suggesting that most people aren’t born the way the are. What I’m suggesting is it doesn’t fucking matter. Whether you’ve known your orientation since preschool, or only after 30 years of marriage, you are valid and so is your sexual identity. Queer people need to stop policing each other!! And honestly, if the best defense from bigotry we can come up with is “I can’t help being this way, it was forced upon me at birth!”… FUCK THAT. The world is a fucked up, scary place for queers, but there’s also joy in being who you are. Lots and lots of queer people, if you asked them, wouldn’t want to be any other way.  I don’t need to justify my identity to hateful fuckheads, and neither do you. It doesn’t matter how you got here.
